I helped my sister-in-law and her husband move into their new farm this weekend. Here are some shots I took around the property:

Architecture, Cats, Insects, Nature, Architecture (b&w), and Nature (b&w).

Kat gave me a walking tour of Trent University, where she works, on this past August long weekend. I took a bunch of pictures and have posted what I feel are the best of the lot. I've performed some alterations on a few of them using the filters in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, and I'm really quite impressed with the results. Hopefully you will be as well.

Also, in case you missed it, I posted a shot of the Peterborough water tower. If it looks familiar that's because it was featured in the movie Jumper.

For your convenience, the new photos have been marked as such and can be found in the following sections: Peterborough, Cats, Birds, Nature, Architecture (b&w), and Birds (b&w).

It's been a looooong time since I've posted an updated here. I figured that's okay, though. It's really the photos that matter more than my words, and I've finally gotten around to posting more pictures. Not many, but now that I've also launched a new photoblog, they will add up over time. There is also a feature in the photoblog called "Browse by Subject" that allows you to do just that. Again, there isn't much in there now, but I intend to post a new picture at least once a week, and probably much more often than that.

I hope you enjoy the new sections of the site.

The website is finally up.

I've always wanted a site devoted exclusively to my photography. I used to have an online gallery on my writing website, but after awhile I realized it really needed a place of its own.

After removing the gallery last year, I was unexpectedly surprised by the number of people who wrote me and said, Ian, where'd all the pictures go?! I always thought the photos were nothing more than eye candy, something to help spruce up a fairly ordinary writing website, but apparently I was wrong.

Having said that, I don't expect to sell a lot of photos through this website. I'm offering the option only because some people have expressed an interest in buying prints of my work. The main purpose of this website is to display my pictures.

I'd like to add that I am not an artsy photog, so you won't find any lofty insights into my pictures. If you want dark and deep, go jump in a well. If you want to look at some purty pictures, stick around and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
